There are Legal Requirements in the UK and EU for assessments of hazards from Explosive Atmospheres (DSEAR and Atex Directive 1999/92/EC) and for certification of equipment intended for use in areas where Explosive Atmospheres could arise (EPS and Atex Directive 2014/34/EU). Our consultants can provide expert advice on the application of these Regulations / Directives to specific situations.

DSEAR

Our consultants can undertake suitable and sufficient risk assessments and  hazardous areas classification studies leading to preparation of formal Explosion Protection Documents to satisfy the requirements of the Regulations.

In respect of assessment of hazards from explosive atmospheres by operating companies in the EU, requirements are essentially the same as for DSEAR. As such our consultants are well placed to assist with the compilation of assessments required under the ATEX 1999/92/EC Directive.
